Biography

Richard Young, PE. is a Vice President and program manager with AECOM currently overseeing the $4 Billion reconstruction of I-294 (Central Tri-State), for the Illinois Tollway, leading 26 design firms to deliver 90 construction contracts that incorporate innovative technologies and project delivery methods to deliver a facility for the next generation. Challenged to deliver solutions for electric vehicles of the future, he has been working closely with pioneers in the field to deploy wireless charging technology. He has been working with the Florida Turnpike Enterprise as a program manager to deliver a dynamic charging pilot program at Florida’s SunTrax facility. He soon will be working with Michigan’s Department of Transportation as an owner’s representative for their Inductive Wireless charging corridor. Richard earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and his Master of Business Administration from DePaul University.
