Biography

John Kresse is the Director of the Advanced Electrification Technologies group in the Cummins Research & Technology department headquartered in Columbus, Indiana. He leads a team developing electric machines, integrated electric propulsion systems, hybrid systems, and power electronics for mobile and stationary – grid connected/microgrid – applications. John started his career by developing flight controls for high performance aircraft while working for NASA and then General Dynamics. Since leaving the aerospace industry, John has worked on clutch-to-to-clutch automatic transmissions, hybrid systems, engine controls and e-mobility at Allison Transmission and Cummins. He is currently an industry co-chair for the 21st Century Truck Partnership’s Electrification Technologies team.
