Biography

Ryan Reed is Director of Research & Development for Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR company. He is responsible for guiding the technology roadmap for Kenworth’s commercial vehicle product line, identifying and developing concepts to improve vehicle aerodynamics, freight efficiency and sustainability, and providing technology to assist drivers in improving on-road safety. In his 25 years at the company, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in Engineering, Purchasing, Program Management, and Product Planning, and has headed the R&D team since August 2021. In his prior role as Product Planning Manager, he was responsible for the medium and long term strategic development plan for Kenworth’s on-highway portfolio, improving efficiency, usability and safety across the model line. Reed holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Washington and is a registered Professional Engineer.
