Biography

Robert Sutton is the Senior Vice President of TDK R&D Corporation. He is a co-chair of the SAE’s J2954 EMC/EMF sub-team and a member of the United States Technical Advisory Group (USTAG) for IEC/TC69, Electric road vehicles and electric industrial trucks.

Prior to TDK, Sutton co-founded Austin, Texas based start-up EMC Automation (now part of the TDK family of companies). Before EMC Automation, Sutton was a distinguished member of technical staff at Bell Laboratories in their Electromagnetics division.

He holds multiple patents in technical areas of related interest including electrically small antennas, EMC/Non-Ionizing EMF, and radio system metrology.

He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering with a specialization in electromagnetics from the University of Texas at Austin and has over 30 years of industry experience.
