Biography

Dr. Chabaan received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from University of Detroit with Summa Cumlaud, the M.S. in electronics and computer controls system from Wayne State University, and Ph.D. in robust control system from Wayne State University in December 2000.

Dr. Chabaan is a Principal engineer at Hyundai America Technical Center where, his main focus is on High Power Wireless Charging for EV, RF Wireless Power and Vehicle-To-Grid technology.

Dr. Chabaan received over 19 patents, has published more than 56 journal papers & conferences and received several awards such as Global Technology (GTA) achievement award and Henry Ford Technology Award, Best technical papers for two years in row (2017 & 2018) in Hyundai Motor Company conference worldwide.

Dr. Chabaan is a senior member of several organizations and associations such as IEEE Control System Society, Communications, Robotics, and Society of Automotive Engineering. Dr. Chabaan main research interest is System Identifications, Dynamic Controls, Sate of Charge of High Battery Voltage, and High power Wireless Charging for EV.
