Biography

Dr. Joachim Taiber is currently serving as CTO of the non-profit organization International Transportation Innovation Center (ITIC) since 2016. He is the founder of the International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization (IAMTS) which has been announced in 2019 at the SAE World Congress in Detroit. He is advisor to multiple smart mobility start-up’s as well as to multiple smart mobility open and closed test bed initiatives nationally and internationally both for public and private sector clients. He is in particular active as an expert in developing and validating safe and secure highly automated mobility solutions in the context of Smart City and Smart Highway deployment.

Previously he worked as research professor and institute director at the Clemson University International Center of Automotive Research and prior to this for many years for BMW Group in different leadership roles in the R&D and IT division. He was educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich from where he holds a master degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD degree in technical sciences.
